Privacy policy
Welcome to the website www.werdervigano.ch, operated by Werder Viganò AG ("we"/"us"). It is intended to provide information about our law firm and to enable you to contact us.
Visiting the website involves the technical collection of data that may relate to you as a user ("you") of our website and its functions. We also process data that you transmit to us when you contact us. This is all personal data; the processing of such data is regulated by data protection law (however, this data is not generally subject to the professional secrecy of lawyers). Above all, it is important to us to handle this data carefully. This data protection declaration provides you with information on how we do this.
A. What does this communication cover
This notice applies to data and information that we receive and process through your use of our website. For information about the offers and conditions of other offers and services (such as third-party websites and social media), even if they are linked here, please contact these providers directly.
B. Applicable law
Our data processing is subject to Swiss data protection law.
For visitors residing in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), the following applies: Switzerland and the EU including the EEA mutually recognize their data protection legislation as equivalent. C. E-mail contact and other forms of contact
On our website you will find the general contact e-mail address of the law firm (law@wvlaw.ch) as well as the various e-mail addresses of our employees. It goes without saying that your e-mail address and any content you send us will be recorded and processed if you contact us by e-mail. The same applies if you contact us in any other way (e.g. by telephone or letter). We retain this data (and for as long as necessary) in order to respond to your inquiries and, if necessary, where we are legally obliged to do so or in order to protect our rights.
Please note that if you submit your information to us over an open network such as the Internet, such networks are generally not considered a secure environment. For example, information sent over the Internet (such as on or from the Website or by electronic message) may be accessed by unauthorized third parties, possibly resulting in disclosures, alterations of content or technical errors. Even if the sender and recipient are located in the same country, information sent over the Internet may be transmitted across international borders and forwarded to a country with a lower level of data protection than your country of residence.
Please note that we accept no responsibility or liability for the security of your data whilst in transit to us over the internet. To protect your privacy, we would like to remind you that you may choose other means of communication with us where you deem it appropriate.
D. Server logs
You can also use the website without providing any personal data. However, every time you visit our website - as elsewhere on the Internet - you leave a "footprint" of data (so-called server log data), which may include, among other things: The IP address and the Internet service provider of your connection, the browser request, browser type and versions, languages and the operating system of the device you use to access us, the website from which you came (e.g. a search engine in which you found us), the individual pages you access on our website, the date, time and time zone of access as well as transferred data volumes. This data is collected by us, as by most website operators, because it may be required to ensure the security and proper operation of our website; it is not used for any other purpose and is deleted regularly.

H. Rights under the GDPR
For our valued visitors from the EU and the EEA:
The GDPR would apply if we offer you goods or services or monitor your behavior. If this is the case, we base processing on the consent of the data subject where we have it. However, we reserve the right to assert an overriding legitimate interest in individual cases anyway, for example if we still need your contact details in order to communicate with you. Otherwise, we assume that we have such an overriding interest, namely in providing our services, improving our website, analyzing its use and maintaining its secure operation.
You then have all the rights that the GDPR grants you in this regard (in addition to the practically identical rights under Swiss data protection law): You can request from us regarding your personal data that we store and process:
- Information about this, in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR;
- their correction, insofar as they are incorrect, in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR;
- their erasure, in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR; or their restriction, if they may not be erased (in which case they are marked to restrict future processing), Art. 18 GDPR - both unless we have an overriding legitimate interest in retaining and using the data;
- You can also object to data processing by us; we will then cease processing unless there are compelling and serious reasons not to do so or we need the data to protect our rights;
- In accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, you may request the disclosure of data that you have provided to us on the basis of your consent (in particular your contact details if you subscribe to the newsletter).
